As general counsel for Access Healthcare, Catherine McKnight is responsible for managing all legal and regulatory matters for the company.  She has extensive experience in acquisitions and joint ventures, outsourcing and software licensing, strategic initiatives and new business ventures, corporate governance, risk management, and healthcare regulatory compliance.

Prior to joining Access Healthcare, McKnight served as associate general counsel for Children’s Health System of Texas; assistant general counsel for VHA (now Vizient), providing legal counsel to its subsidiary, Provista; and vice president of and assistant general counsel for Concentra.  She has also worked as an attorney, specializing in healthcare and technology.

In 2017, Governor Greg Abbott appointed McKnight to serve as a commissioner of the Texas Historical Commission.  This state agency, recognized nationally for its preservation programs, is tasked with preserving Texas’s architectural, archeological, and cultural landmarks. 

McKnight holds a Juris doctor degree from Washington University School of Law, graduating Order of the Coif, and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin.
